Every meeting Troop 28 collects a dollar from each scout to put into his scout account so that when there is a campout and the scout needs money for some food or equipment he can just withdraw the amount from his account. A dollar a month normally comes out to four dollars or so a month. The scout must earn the dollar for each week by doing chores or work around the house to the parents discretion. The whole point of the dues is to get the scouts use to working for their money and depositing it in an account. However the money should never be GIVEN to, the scout should always earn it, this helps them to be responsible and thrifty.
